PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is a natural treatment that uses your own blood to stimulate healing and regeneration. A small sample of your blood is drawn, processed to concentrate the platelets, and then re-injected into targeted areas of the skin or scalp. This promotes collagen production, improves skin texture, and can help with hair restoration by revitalizing hair follicles. PRP is ideal for clients looking for non-surgical rejuvenation with minimal downtime.

PRP treatment can be done via microneedling or superficial injection.

The science behind it

PRP involves extracting a small sample of your blood, which is then processed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from the red blood cells and other components. The plasma contains a high concentration of growth factors, platelets, and proteins, which play a crucial role in tissue repair and cell regeneration. When injected into targeted areas of the skin or scalp, these growth factors stimulate collagen production, improve circulation, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes. This results in skin rejuvenation, enhanced texture, and hair follicle activation for improved hair growth. PRP harnesses the body’s own healing powers for a safe and effective treatment.

YOU CANNOT HAVE PRP IF: You have any blood borne diseases or blood disorders, have been anaemic within the last 6 months, are pregnant/breastfeeding, have or previously had cancer, those taking blood thinning medication.

What the statistics show

  • Hair Restoration: A study published in the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery found that 70-75% of patients experienced significant improvement in hair thickness and density following PRP treatment. (Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery, 2014).

  • Skin Rejuvenation: Clinical trials, such as one published in The American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, show that PRP can lead to a 30% improvement in skin texture and tone, with visible results after 2-3 treatments. (The American Journal of Clinical Dermatology, 2015).

  • Wrinkle Reduction: A study in Aesthetic Surgery Journal reported that 85% of patients saw a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles after PRP injections, particularly around the eyes and mouth. (Aesthetic Surgery Journal, 2014).

  • Collagen Boost: A study published in The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology demonstrated that PRP treatments led to up to a 400% increase in collagen production, improving skin elasticity and firmness. (Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, 2016).
